Following the path outlined in Mackenzie's journal, the film depicts his arduous journey by canoe all the way to the salt water of the Arctic Ocean - one of the great epics of northern exploration.

    How times have changed. Thank God that we are a bit more sensitive to the rights and feelings of the First Nation Peoples. Or, at least I pray that we are more sensitive than, the explorers of the 18th century. Still, this is an interesting and very well made film, and stands on it's own merits.. Thank you Canada..
