Toronto International Film Festival 2008

3 films

Even if you can't make it to Toronto this year, you can still keep on top of what's playing. We have seven films playing at TIFF this year and you can see clips and trailers for six of them here. Three of the films are world premieres and they are already garnering a lot of attention. Blogs and mainstream media alike are buzzing about The Memories of Angels, the poetic mashup of '50s film footage of Montreal. And, hot on the heels of her Academy Award nomination, Deepa Mehta returns with Heaven on Earth, an alternative drama about identity, immigration, and domestic violence. In Examined Life, filmmaker Astra Taylor interviews world-famous philosophers on the street where they reconcile abstract ideas with everyday life. Two animated short films, Hungu and Rosa Rosa will have their Toronto premieres at TIFF. Enjoy the films and see you on the red carpet!
