In the 1990s, natural gas wells were drilled near the home of Reverend Wiebo Ludwig and his clan in Alberta. «Wiebo Ludwig is an inspiration to those who feel compelled to stand up to misguided authority and he did this with calm and equanimity. Goodness knows he had every reason to be angry. In light of the secret document that has come to the media's attention showing that the RCMP is complicit in the persecution of any who would call into question the practices of the oil and gas industry, Mr. Ludwig's experiences are all the more heroic and tragic. I think someone should make a film on the RCMP's campaign of dirty tricks. How can the RCMP engage in these kinds of tactics and NOT be called to account? That our federal law enforcement agency has been co-opted and works on behalf of big industry, turning it's back on the citizens of Canada seems far more criminal and far-reaching than anything Mr. Ludwig might have done.» — GlenT, 18 Fév 2015
