Robes of War (Trailer)

This animated short from Michèle Cournoyer is about a woman whose entire being has been invaded by war. We see soldiers march out of her head, trampling down everything in their path. Like a grieving Madonna, she weeps for her son and brother. From her pain and the blood of men killed in battle, an army of women springs up - a powerful column inspired by faith and rebellion. Thirst for justice becomes a thirst for revenge. The woman's body is a weapon, her robes her armour and she who once gave life will now deal out death. Cournoyer's signature brushstrokes are like stab wounds making the ink explode onto the paper in this film without words.
